



Movielink is the leading movie download service offering U.S. customers an extensive selection of new and classic movies, foreign films, TV shows and other hard-to-find content. The service is owned and operated by Movielink, LLC, a joint venture of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Studios. James Ramo, Chief Executive Officer
As the Chief Executive Officer, Jim Ramo oversees every aspect of Movielink. With over 25 years of experience in the delivery of entertainment and related services, Jim works directly with the Board of Movielink, a brain trust comprised of representatives from each of the five equity partners: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
From 1985 to 1990, he was Vice President of Hughes Communications (the forerunner of PanAm Sat) and responsible for sales to the cable and broadcast industry. From 1990-1997, Jim acted as a primary founder and Executive Vice President of DIRECTV, the industry leading DBS company. From 1997 to 2000, Jim functioned as the COO of TVN Entertainment and CEO of Geocast Network Systems. Most recently, he resided at Shelter Ventures, LLC, consulting various communications companies and initiating investment opportunities in new media for this $200 million fund.
Jim has an M.S. degree from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Bruce Anderson, Senior VP Engineering and Operations
As Senior VP Engineering and Operations, Bruce Anderson oversees the development, delivery, and operation of all technologies which combine to bring the Movielink experience to consumers and key customers. His responsibilities include electronic commerce; content delivery; affiliate integration; entertainment platform integration; content, digital rights, and royalty management; and financial, reporting, and customer service systems.
Drawing on 20 years’ experience in technology strategy, development, delivery, and management, Bruce has been at the forefront of digital entertainment delivery since early 1998. Prior to Movielink, Bruce was a digital media strategy consultant for IPTV VOD service ANYTIME and IP set-top-box appliance manufacturer Bast, and served as Senior Vice President of Technology for the digital entertainment service platform Intertainer. Before entering the digital entertainment realm, Bruce served as a Senior Technical Architect at MCI Systemhouse.
Bruce holds a B.Sc. in Computing Science from Dalhousie University.
Sean Besser, VP Business Development
As the head of Business Development, Sean Besser is responsible for guiding the corporate growth of Movielink, including identifying, expanding and managing all of its strategic partnerships. Sean’s current focus is on developing partnerships to boost the demand for legal video content over I/P, add value to Movielink’s products, and improve the quality of the Movielink service.
Sean brings to Movielink nearly 10 years of experience in the delivery of entertainment and related services, including work at TiVo, Fox Sports, NBC, and most recently EchoStar (The DISH Network), where he managed the company’s broadband business development activities.
Sean holds an M.B.A. from the Haas Graduate School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, and both a J.D. and B.A from the University of Southern California.
Mary Coller Albert, Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Mary Coller Albert is responsible for leading all product marketing and company branding efforts at Movielink. A seasoned Internet marketing and media executive, she oversees all company consumer, business and partner marketing initiatives from brand communication, product planning and positioning to customer acquisition and retention strategies. Mary also oversees all content acquisition and management, production and programming.
Previously Mary served as Senior Vice President at Sony Pictures Digital where she was head of Programming for Sony Connect Video as well as Senior Vice President, General Manager, of SoapCity. In the five years that Mary was at the helm SoapCity, her leadership was instrumental in making SoapCity the Internet’s foremost distributor of content on soap operas and one of the largest female- oriented websites, leading to the launch of SoapCity’s download service, the first video download service offering full-length, day and date network television broadcasting over the Internet. Before joining Sony Pictures Digital, Mary was vice president and co-founder of Beatnik Inc., an interactive audio software and music development company she started with musician Thomas Dolby. Mary was responsible for taking the company through creative concept, to raising venture capital, and onto maintaining the day-to-day operations including music and software licensing. In addition, she developed, negotiated and oversaw all business relationships for Beatnik, including deals with such major technology companies as Netscape, Microsoft’s WebTV, Sun Microsystems and others. Prior to Beatnik, she managed the careers of musicians and artists as the owner of Mary Coller Management, a personal management company she established in 1990.
Matt Emmerson, Chief Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer, Matt oversees Movielink’s finance, planning, accounting, treasury and tax functions. He brings nearly 10 years of financial, operations and strategic leadership to Movielink.
Prior to joining Movielink in early 2003, Matt worked at the CPA firm PricewaterhouseCoopers where he managed a wide range of financial audit, SEC consulting, and tax services for multinational public and private companies in the technology, entertainment, and manufacturing sectors.
Matt holds a B.S. in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Michael Hayes, VP Engineering
As VP Engineering, Michael Hayes oversees the delivery of all Movielink software. His responsibilities include release planning, scope management, staffing and all other aspects of software development related to the various Movielink systems and subsystems. Michael’s primary focus is balancing the day-to-day needs of the Product and Marketing teams with the long-term strategic and architectural needs of the Technology department.
Michael has been building and launching Internet-based initiatives since 1996 and has been involved with Movielink since its inception at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Prior to Sony, Michael served as a consultant at Viant Corporation where he managed development teams on various projects including Robert Half International and LivePlanet. Before entering the digital entertainment field, Michael served as a lead developer at Washington Square Associates, where he developed web-based systems for various areas of the Department of Defense including, National Missile Defense and Ballistic Missile Defense.
Michael holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo.
Sheri O’Neill, VP Human Resources
Sheri O’Neill oversees all aspects of human resources, organizational development, and administration for Movielink with a focus on the acquisition and retention of top talent. She brings 15 years of human resources leadership to her position as head of HR.
Most recently, Sheri served as a senior staff member and Vice President of Human Resources at CarParts Technologies where she directed all aspects of HR, including employee and labor relations, recruitment, benefits, compensation and payroll. She also has served as the Director of Human Resources at BizBuyer.com and GeoCities/Yahoo!.
Peter W. Sheil, Executive VP & General Counsel
Peter Sheil has been involved with the Movielink project since February 2001, initially acting as counsel to Warner Bros. in the creation of the joint venture and then serving as General Counsel to the Company beginning in September 2001.
Peter has practiced law for over 20 years, representing public and private companies in a broad range of corporate, commercial and financing matters. Before Movielink, Peter was Senior Vice President of the ReplayTV Service at ReplayTV, Special Counsel to Strategic Law Partners, LLP in Los Angeles, SVP and Assistant General Counsel of Bank Plus Corporation, a financial services holding company, and was a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, a New York-based corporate law firm.
Peter holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. from Williams College.
